Marks pond - week 9.

Completing the walls & coping.

My dad came to help at the end of last week and the weather was quite kind really.
We got the walls up to the top with the liner in between the two skins. We also got the coping on with the liner underneath.
[The completed pond] The attached photographs show building the wall above the liner level. It is hard to keep some cement from falling in the water but that will have to be cleaned out later by vacuum and flushing.
[Close up of pump chamber] The finished wall and coping has the return pipe inside. I elected not to cover this in cement but will put a plastic cover over it just in case I ever need to get at it. I should not but Murphy says that if I make it permanent then I definitely will.
You can clearly see the return pipe through the wall. The final water level will be just above this pipe (I hope!). The venturi will fit on the end and the last elbow joint is not welded to allow it to move direction.
[The fish] The liner goes between the layers of bricks and out under the coping.
So, it is all finished, at least the building bit anyway. Now I have to wait for it to dry properly and a dry day to put the G4 on the exposed bricks and mortar.
I also have a bit of plumbing for the pump left to do and some electric's but the end is in sight.

I am away again from Saturday so not much more action for a couple of weeks unfortunately. I hope the weather does not get so cold I cannot move the fish when it is done.

The next and final installment was to complete the pond and add the fish..
