Pond construction

John & Yvonne's pond - page 2

[Packing down the dirt]

The soil is now being packed down by John using a vibrating tool.

[Installation of the liners] [Installation of the liners]

These photos show the installation of the liners and you can notice the rock waterfall being built also.

[Ponds almost full of water] [Base for the filter]

On the left both ponds are almost full of water, and the waterfall is complete. Notice the box in the center of the ponds where electricity has been run for the ponds and lights.
The pond is now stocked with 9 koi (you can't see them, but they are in there), and they plan to add more fish, and a few fish that will keep the pond liner clean. The deck in the background is being torn up and it is being replaced as John's wife Yvonne does the landscaping.

This website started with a booklet which I made up originally for the help of those members of the BKKS - South Wales Section who were intending to start building a koi pond, and as the website has expanded more information and articles from other people have been included. This is for general guidance only, and we do not take any responsibility for problems that might occur by following these ideas. It is important that you check out everything in your area, and check on local laws and rules that may apply.
