The pond holds 3,500 gallons, and was block built, rendered with Fibren, and then fibreglassed.
These three photos above show various views of the pond, and the waterfall can be clearly seen.
A skimmer is fitted and this goes to a Aquamax 10000 then to a Bioforce 9000 returning to the pond via the waterfall. There is a three way valve on the skimmer pump that can be set up to backwash the filter for the waterfall.
The skimmer is on a timer so the waterfall can come on or off as required.
All the drain pipes go to a sump, and this water is used for watering the garden so there is no waste.
This website started with a
booklet which I made up originally for the help of those members of the BKKS
- South Wales Section who were intending to start building a koi pond, and as the website has expanded more information and articles from other people have been included. This
is for general guidance only, and we do not take any responsibility for problems
that might occur by following these ideas. It is important
that you check out everything in your area, and check on local laws and rules
that may apply.
