Pond descriptions

Andrew & Rosemary's pond

Andrew had a small pond in a previous house and when they moved to this house it was a good opportunity to build a koi pond.
View of completed pond The pond is rectangular, built with concrete blocks, rendered, and fibreglassed.
It is situated at the bottom of the garden, and is fitted with a wooden pergola.
Filter system

The filter housing is at the end of the pond and there is plenty of room for adding additional equipment later if required.
The main filtration unit is a Nexus 200 fitted with with The Answer 325, and then it passes through a 24 inch sand filter.

This website started with a booklet which I made up originally for the help of those members of the BKKS - South Wales Section who were intending to start building a koi pond, and as the website has expanded more information and articles from other people have been included. This is for general guidance only, and we do not take any responsibility for problems that might occur by following these ideas. It is important that you check out everything in your area, and check on local laws and rules that may apply.
