Changing to a Nexus unit - page3.

The soil is now being removed so that the pipework can be exposed, and the vortex chamber will then be removed.

NOTE. In the photo on the left you can see that no concrete had been poured around the pipework when it was originally constructed so now it is easy to remove.

The hole has been dug out and you can see the pipe from the bottom drain.
The pipe at the top previously went to the vortex chamber, but has now been cut and a 110mm ball valve has been fitted.
The pipe at the bottom goes to the stand pipe in the drains box, and this will remain.
The pond can now be refilled.

A 6 inch thick concrete base has been put in place. The water level in the Nexus will be on the same level as the water in the pond.
The wall is now being built up.

This website started with a booklet which I made up originally for the help of those members of the BKKS - South Wales Section who were intending to start building a koi pond, and as the website has expanded more information and articles from other people have been included. This is for general guidance only, and we do not take any responsibility for problems that might occur by following these ideas. It is important that you check out everything in your area, and check on local laws and rules that may apply.
