These pictures show the installation of the TPRs. The first layer of fibreglass has been applied. The pipework is then ground back flush to the wall so that nothing protrude into the water. |
A bead of polyurethane sealant is then applied around the whole area effectively bonding the pipe to the fibreglass layer. |
Once the sealant has dried, a layer of matting and resin is applied to the whole area around the pipe. |
Once the TPRs had been done the remainder of the pond floor could be fibreglassed. The fibreglassing is the only part of the project that I felt best to leave to a professional. The professional in this case was a gentleman called Dave Arnold from near Nottingham who did a superb job from start to finish. |
NOTE. The method of sealing the deepwater pipes to the fibreglass shown here may be done in a different way by the contractor doing the fibreglass on your pond. It is necessary to discuss this in detail before the person comes to do the work or agrees the price. |
The remaining topsoil was added to the borders and the matting and resin base layer was left to dry for about a week before the whole pond was 'acetone washed' and the black flowcoat was applied. The bamboo has been laid over the pergola. |
